As we say goodbye to the last days of Summer, we would like to thank all of our customers who have visited our Sheringham art gallery during this busy period. It has been an exciting season at Sanders and Christie and we’ve enjoyed meeting new and returning customers and showcasing our wonderful range of artworks.

In this edition of our newsletter, we’ll share highlights from the past month and news about what we have planned as we move into September. We look forward to seeing you again soon… do please visit our website if you can’t visit the gallery in person as we will be adding new artwork every week.
New Aviation Paintings
Two new and exciting Michael Sanders paintings have recently landed in our gallery! Following on from the popularity of his previous aviation paintings, we are thrilled to showcase ‘Spitfires’ and ‘Lancasters’.
The Spitfire is one of the most famous fighter aircraft of World War II, renowned for its agility, speed and distinctive elliptical wings. The Spitfire’s combination of performance and manoeuvrability made it a symbol of British resilience and engineering excellence.
Spitfires is painted on a 90 x 90 cm canvas and framed in a large handpainted distressed charcoal molded frame, with an overall framed size of 106 x 106 cm.

The Lancaster was a four-engine heavy bomber that became the backbone of the Royal Air Force's Bomber Command during World War II, including the famous "Dambusters" raid. Painted on a 76 x 90 cm canvas and framed in a handpainted charcoal tray frame, with an overall framed size of 80 x 95 cm.

It's always a joy to see the Lancaster flyover during September's 1940s weekend here in Sheringham and Michael captures the essence of these magnificent airplanes in his beautifully detailed paintings. Available to view and purchase at the gallery or purchase online with free fully-insured delivery. Limited edition prints coming soon.
Just Arrived at the Gallery
Two new panoramic paintings by Michael Sanders are on exhibition at the gallery and online. 'Passing Storm, Cley' and ‘Blakeney Watch House and Sea Lavender’ - these stunning mixed-media paintings capture the beauty of the North Norfolk coastline. The Mill is a well-known landmark that commands breath-taking views over the salt marshes to Blakeney Point and the sea, while The Watch-house sits alone on the horizon as you look out over Blakeney harbour and beyond. Canvas size 30 x 76 cm plus a white wooden hand-painted tray frame.

Birds Taking Flight!
Mary Wyatt's raku ceramic birds are 'flying out of the gallery'... so we are very excited to have her new range of birds. A very large and majestic heron, gorgeous grebes in different sizes, ducks with iridescent glazes and lovely little partridges and chickens.

These beautifully crafted pieces, known for their unique glaze and intricate details, have become a favourite among our visitors. Each Raku bird is a one-of-a-kind treasure, embodying both elegance and artistry. If you’re looking to add a touch of charm and character to your space, these sculptures are a must-see.
New Artist… Tara Sampy
We are very excited to be working with Norfolk-based artist Tara Sampy. Tara creates beautiful hand-pulled monotypes of flowers from her garden in gorgeous palettes and delicate compositions. We currently have a lovely selection of her limited edition prints at the gallery and will be exhibiting some original monotypes very soon. Tara’s work will be on our website very soon; in the meantime, please visit the gallery to view the full range or request further information by email.

Great News!
Due to high demand, we have more of Martyn Dempsey's popular crab sculptures back in stock, along with some stunning starfish. Unique designs in distressed verdigris, silver, gold and bronze finishes in a variety of sizes. A perfect memento of time spent rock-pooling on our beautiful beaches.

For Book Lovers…
The beautiful Lost in a Book sculpture by Susan Ashby has sold, but we're pleased to say we now have No. 2/25 in the gallery in cold cast bronze and No. 1/18 in solid bronze. Please visit us to view them or request further information.
