I make sculptural ceramics and vessels using hand building techniques, in a wide variety of colored stoneware clays. I took an adult education course at Highlands over 12 years ago and was immediately drawn to the infinite possibilities of working with clay. My interest is primarily focused on producing strong simple forms with highly refined tactile surfaces, mainly in muted neutral tones. Most of my work is left entirely unglazed or partially glazed as I enjoy the warm mat surface of the clay. My designs reflect my love of the natural world, and all things odd and interesting.
